No. Paste the Pine script and the tester runs it here, in your browser. When you want it on your TradingView chart, it pastes back unchanged.
The script itself. The tester runs your Pine as written; the trades on the chart are its own entries and exits, filled at the next bar's open.
Both periods are written out on every run with their start, end and length: in sample 03 Aug 23 to 10 Sep 25, 2Y 1M; out of sample 11 Sep 25 to 11 Sep 26, 1Y. The out-of-sample part is the last stretch of the period: the setup offers the lengths the period allows (3M, 6M, 1Y and 2Y on three years of daily bars, each leaving at least 30 bars on both sides), the one nearest a third is the default, or it starts at any date you pick. The chart carries a bar over each period, and the results show the out-of-sample trades, net and Sharpe on their own with one word: survived, decayed, did not survive, or too few trades to judge.
3 scripts in the Strategy Tester, each on any symbol and timeframe the feed carries, with the audit and the full trade list. The optimiser, the screener, alerts, versions and the copilot are IQ Pro.
