AI Pine Script tools compared

10 tools traders weigh when they want an AI to write a Pine Script strategy or a backtest they can trust: what runs the script, whether trading costs are charged, whether the result is checked on data it was not fitted on, and where to start free. Every line about another tool is what its own site says, on the date shown

  • 10 tools
  • each read from its own site, 16 to 24 October 2026
  • a full comparison page for each
  • the lines quoted under the labels they have there

Four things to check

Does it run your Pine script, or a rewrite of it?

A backtest of a rewrite tests the rewrite. Some tools run Pine itself, some run a subset of it, some convert it to another language first.

Are trading costs charged by default?

Pine's own default is no commission and no slippage, so a rule that trades often can look profitable until the costs go in. What they do to a result is in commission and slippage.

Is the result checked on data it was not fitted on?

Settings that fit the past can fail on the next stretch of bars. Holding part of the history back, and judging it alone, is the cheapest check there is; how it works is in out-of-sample testing.

Does it cover your market?

This is where the tools differ most: crypto, forex, CFDs and futures on some, US stocks on others. A tool that does not carry your market cannot test your strategy, however good it is.

Side by side

Each card quotes the tool's comparison page, under the labels it has there; a row a page does not have is left out rather than guessed.

Foresight

foresight.trading · checked 24 October 2026
What runs your script
A compiled Pine engine: WebAssembly in the browser, native code in the Windows desktop app; its audit says 99.7% of 28,133 valid community scripts compile and run, and 96.2% of 2,478 scored scripts matched TradingView's entry timing and direction

Questions

What is the best AI Pine Script generator?

It depends on where the script has to run. If you already pay for TradingView and want the AI inside your charts, TradingView AI Copilot writes Pine from plain words and leaves the backtest to TradingView's Strategy Tester. LuxAlgo's Quant writes and backtests Pine on more markets than US stocks. Alpha Charts writes Pine v6, checks it against 38 rules and backtests it with trading costs and a held-out check on every run, on US stocks, ETFs and NQ and ES futures, with a Free plan to start. Each tool's own lines are side by side on this page.

Which AI tools write Pine Script and backtest it?

Alpha Charts, LuxAlgo's Quant, TradingView AI Copilot (through TradingView's Strategy Tester) and Deepwick, which runs a subset of Pine with an AI on your own API key. Stratest turns plain English into Python strategies rather than Pine, and TrendSpider's AI writes TrendSpider scripts in JavaScript. Foresight, PineTester and StratOwl run or translate a Pine script you bring, with no AI that writes it.

Which tools charge trading costs in a backtest by default?

Alpha Charts charges 0.05% commission and 0.025% slippage per side on every run unless you change them. TradingView's Strategy Tester applies none unless the script or its properties set them, and LuxAlgo leaves them to the strategy's properties. Deepwick's saved backtests pay half the live spread, PineTester uses what the script sets and warns when fees are missing, Stratest models commission and slippage, Foresight offers three fill models, and StratOwl's backtester page does not mention costs.

What are the best LuxAlgo alternatives?

For an AI that writes Pine Script and backtests it: Alpha Charts, TradingView AI Copilot with TradingView's Strategy Tester, and Deepwick on a subset of Pine. For strategies in plain English that become Python: Stratest. For JavaScript scripting and no-code strategies: TrendSpider. For running a Pine script you already have, without AI: Foresight, PineTester, StratOwl and TradingView's own Strategy Tester. If you trade crypto, every one of them covers it and Alpha Charts does not.

Is there a free AI Pine Script generator?

Several tools have a free start. Alpha Charts' Free plan writes the Pine v6 script with the AI and backtests it, with no card. LuxAlgo's free plan has 500 monthly AI credits, with backtesting on its paid plans. Stratest is free for 10 backtests a month and 25 AI credits once, in Python. Deepwick's free plan runs its AI on your own API key, which your provider bills. TradingView AI Copilot needs a paid TradingView plan and the add-on.

Do these tools run the Pine script itself?

Alpha Charts, TradingView and Foresight run the Pine script itself, each on its own engine. PineTester converts a Pine v6 strategy to Python and runs that, Deepwick runs a subset of Pine and flags the lines it does not support, StratOwl translates common calls into its own rules and skips the rest, and Stratest rebuilds a Pine v5 strategy as Python through a converter on its paid plans. A backtest of a rewrite tests the rewrite.

How was this comparison made?

Each tool has its own comparison page, written from what its own site says, read from 16 to 24 October 2026, with the pages it was read from. This page sets the same lines side by side under the labels they have there, and leaves promotional prices to each tool's own pricing page.

Each tool's lines come from its own site, read on the date on its card; the pages they come from are listed on its comparison page. If anything here has changed, tell us and we will correct it.
